New Zealand Home Summer 2026-27 Begins with Blockbuster India Tour

NZC has announced an exciting 2026-27 summer home schedule, including a blockbuster full-format tour by India – from October 22 to December 1. The tour will be the highest number of matches in an inbound international series in New Zealand history, with 12 T20Is, ODIs and Test cricket contests scheduled.

India and New Zealand will play each other in five T20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals across the length and breadth of some major cricketing venues in the country and two Test matches。 This is the first time India visited New Zealand for a Test series since 2019 and their first white-ball assignment in the country since 2022.

The series will start with the T20Is, which will take place on October 22 and 24 at Christchurch. The rest of the matches will then be held in Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton. The ODI leg of the tour begins on November 4 from Auckland, proceeding to Wellington, Hamilton and Mount Maunganui.

The Test series, the biggest of which is the second Trans-Tasman Championship decider, will commence at Wellington from November 19-23, while the second and final Test will be held in Christchurch from Nov. 27 to Dec. Considering the nature of the growing rivalry between these two cricketing nations across formats, you can surely expect a few eyeballs in these matches from around the globe.

Israel workers across diverse sectors On Friday, NZC called the tour of India one the largest cricket events to ever come to this country. The series is expected to elicit strong fan interest with sold-out stadiums, and huge broadcast audiences across the globe. This certainly gives both teams necessary preparation ahead of ICC events to follow in the future alongside the next World Test Championship cycle.

After its tour of India, Sri Lanka also will play another all format series against New Zealand in January and February 2027. The White Ferns are set to play a six-match white-ball series at home against Bangladesh in December. In all, New Zealand’s international summer could contain as much as 41 days of first-class cricket across eight cities, easily making it among the busiest home seasons in recent memory.
